Dear Tacoma Arts Community,

April is coming up...it's the National Month of Poetry! Tacoma poets and arts groups invite you to celebrate with us at extraordinary, meaningful events for you and your family.

Celebrate the launch of poetry month with local poets Tammy Robacker and Maria Chong Gudaitis on April 5. Meet Tacoma Poet Laureate Josie Emmons Turner--and welcome the new city poet laureate--at the Tacoma Arts Commission event on April 23. Attend a reading of Northwest and nationally-acclaimed poets at King's Books, PLU and local libraries. And, if you dare--read your own work at the Distinguished Writer Series or Free Ya Mind open mic.

Attached is a PDF, printable event list of readings, workshops and other poetry happenings--a calender pretty enough to hang in your cubicle or attic writing space. The text version without graphics is also below. More detailed event info is available at our website www.poetrytacoma.com also. Enjoy!

Thanks! --Maria Gudaitis
