Opportunity: Teaching Artist for Young Women in Tacoma

Arts Connect, a program of Hilltop Artists in Tacoma, WA, is an arts-based intervention and recidivism prevention program for young women aged 12 - 18 who are involved with Pierce County Juvenile Court. Arts Connect is an after school program that runs in quarterly 10 week sessions once a week. We are seeking teaching artists in any medium that are interested in teaching an art enrichment workshop to youth that is based on hands-on projects generated from group discussions and writing activities about identity, society, and healthy lifestyles. Artists must have a passion working with at risk youth of diverse backgrounds and value mentorship, creative expression and collaboration. Artists must be able to pass a background check.
