Barbara Green Selected As Interim Operations Director
Seattle, WA - The Board of Directors of Artist Trust is pleased to announce that Barbara Green has been appointed Interim Operations Director. Green comes to Artist Trust with over 25 years of experience and a long history of serving in interim leadership roles. Her most recent post was as Interim Director for University Heights and COLAGE. Prior to this, she held interim leadership positions with Richard Hugo House, Powerful Voices and a long list of other local nonprofit organizations.
Nearly two weeks ago, Artist Trust announced the transition of Margit Rankin as their Executive Director. Rankin served in the role for just over two years and secured one of the largest grants available to artists in the region, which resulted in the creation of the James W. Ray Venture Project Awards (winners for 2014 were Amy Neal and Cris Bruch) and the James W. Ray Distinguished Artist Award (won by Jessika Kenney in 2014).
The Board has asked Green to focus her efforts internally to provide a number of key deliverables. The goals during this transition period include: evaluate internal processes around organizational efficiency, communications and technology, in addition to taking on many of the day-to-day operational functions.
Green conveyed her intention to meet these goals when commenting, "It is a pleasure to serve such an important organization. My hope is to support the staff, meet their immediate needs and continue to ensure there is a solid foundation for the next executive leader of Artist Trust."
Green began in her role at Artist Trust on April 21, 2014. She will serve in an interim capacity through August, when the Board hopes to have filled the vacant Executive Director position.
"We are excited to have Barbara with us in an interim role," shared Board President Susan Wagner. "We are confident in her expertise and believe her experience is just what we need during this transition."
