RESILIENCE– A Sansei Sense of Legacy opens Saturday, February 4th

Don’t miss your chance to see the powerful exhibition Resilience– A Sansei Sense of Legacyhttps://www.washingtonhistory.org/exhibit/resilience/. This exhibition will be opening on Saturday, February 4, 2023, and is on view through July 7, 2023. Resilience features the art of eight Sansei Japanese Americans whose work reflects on the effects of Executive Order 9066 and its intergenerational impact. EO 9066, authorized by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1942, forced the evacuation and incarceration of an estimated 126,000 people of Japanese ancestry living on the West Coast.

On February 16, guests can visit free from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm as part of our Third Thursday program.
