Calling All Young Artists! The Children's Museum of Tacoma is seeking
artwork from aspiring young artists who would like to contribute to this
year's Holiday Card Project.
The Holiday Card Project is an annual fundraiser for the Museum, where
select children’s artwork is printed on holiday cards and sold to corporate
clients.
There are two was to contribute!
Submit your holiday-themed artwork
Do you love to draw, paint, assemble and create? Are you looking for a fun
summer activity at home? Why not make some holiday-themed artwork and
submit it for the Holiday Card Project at the Museum?
We are accepting artwork created by children 18 years and younger* until
August 14*. All artwork submitted will be considered for the project.
Approximately 2-6 pieces of art will be selected and printed as holiday
cards. If your artwork is selected, we will professionally frame for you
the original artwork and provide you with a bundle of 40 holiday cards
featuring your design!
Here are some holiday-themed ideas:
Snowy and icy scenes
Trees and forests
Wood land animals...like deer
Wreathes
Candles
Ornaments
Santa Claus or elves
Stockings and presents
Stars
Holiday lights
Tips:
Use any materials you like to create your artwork. Paint, pastel,
collage...paper, canvas, etc.
Whatever you choose to use, please consider making it bold, bright and
colorful. These designs seem to be the most popular for holiday cards.
Artwork that is 11"x17" or smaller is easier for us to handle and process.
How to submit your artwork:
Email bmorrison@playtacoma.org us a good quality jpeg image of your
original artwork.
Include the artist's name, age and school.
Provide adult contact information, including name, email, and phone number.
Tell us about your artwork- size, materials, when it was made.
Submit your artwork to Brenda Morrison, Deputy Director at **

If we choose to use your design, we will request the original artwork be
delivered to the Museum for professional photographing and scanning.
Attend a Holiday Card Art-Making Workshop

At this holiday card workshop, participants will use a range of art
supplies to re-create their favorite holiday memories. The art-making
workshop will be led by Erika Scott, a Museum play guide and a local
artist.
All artwork created at the workshop will be considered for the holiday card
project. If your child's design is chosen it will be featured as one of the
2013 Children's Museum of Tacoma holiday cards, and your family will
receive the original artwork framed and a bundle of 40 custom cards
featuring your child's art. All original artwork will be returned to
workshop participants by August 31.
This workshop is FREE and for children ages 6-12. Pre-registration is
