Here's a fabulous opportunity to hear five jazz bands, plus participate in their workshops, for a mere $10 at the Pierce College Jazz Expo on Sunday, June 2.

Artists scheduled to perform include: Thomas Marriot Sextet (Tribute to Art Blakey), Greta Matassa quartet, McTuff, Pierce College Jazz Ensemble and Pete Christlieb Quartet.

Musicians of all abilities and ages, as well as non-musicians, may attend the workshops. Musicians are welcome to bring their instruments to the clinic because some clinicians may ask students to participate.

"Pierce College is thrilled to be able to host its annual Jazz Expo, where people can listen to and learn from world-class jazz artists in an intimate setting," said Pierce College jazz band director Kareem Khandi, who organized the event. Kandi, a saxophonist and composer, also leads The Kareem Kandi Band, which plays throughout the Pacific Northwest
