FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 2, 2024

The City of Auburn and the Auburn Arts Commission are pleased to present the work of Eric Kirby at the Community Center Gallery, on view July 2 - September 12, 2024.

"I never stopped playing with toys. I was always curious how they seemed to move on their own and how they ended up in the most random locations. I would create elaborate stories to explain their journeys. This faded as I got older, but the urge to tell these stories returned when I had kids of my own. The stories became more elaborate, the imagery became more deliberate and the mythology deeper. I love the juxtaposition of the toys interacting with the real world, creating a narrative of their own. Each photo creates a link to the magic around us and lets the viewer tap into those lost stories we cherished in our youth."
