FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Artistic Director Erin M. Ceragioli’s Silver Anniversary Season

December 8, 2011 Tacoma, WA – Tacoma City Ballet’s 2011-2012 season
marks Artistic Director Erin M. Ceragioli’s 25th year with the ballet
company.  The 2011 Nutcracker, which opens at The Pantages this
weekend, is Miss Erin’s silver anniversary Nutcracker with Tacoma City
Ballet.

Twenty-five years ago, Erin M. Ceragioli came to Tacoma at the request
of Miss Jan Collum.  She was to teach at Tacoma City Ballet for just
one year.  Luckily for Tacoma, Miss Erin never left.  During her
tenure at Tacoma City Ballet, Miss Erin M. Ceragioli has contributed
award-winning choreography and innovative dance to Tacoma, including
the creation of Children’s Ballet Theatre which performs the popular
The Haunted Theatre each October.  In 1998, Miss Erin spearheaded the
research project that culminated in Tacoma City Ballet’s re-creation
of the Original Russian The Nutcracker from 1892, and then researched
the storyline and history of Dracula for an original ballet in 2008.

To celebrate this special season, Wardrobe Mistress Jennifer Kinney
utilized silver accents on the new costumes for Snow King & Snow
Queen. “Doesn't everyone get new silver trimmed tutus made just for
them to celebrate their 25th anniversary?” asked Kinney.  She added,
“May the next 25 be made of pure gold.”

For the rest of this special season, Tacoma City Ballet has scheduled
a showcase of choreography entitled Toes Treading in Triptych to be
held at Theatre on the Square in April. This spring also includes
plans for new Children’s Ballet Theatre production, Storybook Ballet
Theatre.

Tacoma City Ballet is proud to celebrate this special anniversary
production of The Nutcracker at The Pantages Theater in downtown
Tacoma.  The Nutcracker will once again be performed with live
accompaniment by the Northwest Sinfonietta.  The Nutcracker runs from
December 10th through the 21st. Tickets $19-$60 at www.broadwaycenter.org
or call (253) 591-5894 or (800) 291-7593. Military, student, senior
and group discounts available.
