Welcome Scribes! We are a new submission based literary site known as Creative Colloquy currently seeking submissions from Tacoma (and surrounding area) authors. It's our aim to share Tacoma's rich literary talents and foster relationships built upon our mutual admiration of the written word. You can read featured short stories now on our site creativecolloquy.com. Please read the following guidelines before submitting your work for consideration. *All genres and styles of work will be considered (except fan fiction and erotica)~keep in mind that short stories, memoir/novel excerpts and essays are encouraged but other prose such as poetry will also be considered. * We are looking for submissions that are 1,000 to 3,000 words in length. However to be considered as a performer for our reading events pieces must not exceed 5 minutes stage time (or about 1,000 words). Larger stories will be considered, within reason. *Please format stories using MS Word document, 12 pt, double spaced and include title and author information. *Please only submit ONE piece of work per month. As much as we are looking forward to reading your stories, we are a small team and want to invest a fair amount of time and consideration into each story submitted. Those who send more than one piece of work for consideration each month will automatically be disqualified for not following directions. *Photos may be submitted to accompany your work. If you have a headshot or related photo please feel free to send it along with your submission. If photographer needs to be credited please specify. *Short bio or blog/website links may be submitted to accompany your work. It is in our hopes to encourage our audience to read your work after all! *Though it is our aim to spread the wealth of literary talents in Tacoma one need not be only from Tacoma to submit. Surrounding areas that are considered the South Sound are welcome to join in on the fun. We will contact you if your story will be featured on the site. If you're story is not selected for one month we may still intend on posting it a following month. This will be determined by how many submissions are received.
