Bob demonstrates an easy technique for beginning carvers. He will answer
all your questions about getting started at home.
11:15 Making Multiples with Claudia Riedener of Ixia Tile Tacoma,

Claudia shows how open-face molds are made from plaster and how to create
perfect tile replicas through pressing clay or slip-casting in the
mold. You will also learn how to apply pressed or molded sprigs to fresh
clay.

12:00 Water Etching with Mary Lynn Buss of Isle Tile
Mary Lynn demonstrates water etching, a technique resulting in a slight
relief with soft edges to an image or pattern on green ware. A resist
medium, brush, and a damp sponge are her key tools.
12:45 – 2:00 Using Handmade Tiles in your Home Installation

This panel of experts in design, tile making and installation, demonstrate
and give pointers on how to use artisan handmade tiles in your home. They
will provide ideas of how to obtain a quality custom result using examples
of tiles made by artists at the show and commercially available tile.
2:00-2:45 Antique Art Tiles—A Collector’s Perspective with Ron Endlich,
Tile Historian and Collector
Ron discusses antique tiles from 19th and 20th centuries. He will show
examples, many rare, from his collection.
2:45-3:30 Leaf and Floral Applied Relief with Janet Gadallah of JLG

Beginning with press molds, Janet demonstrates how she adds more relief
dimension to her work. Inspired by nature, her results bring the outdoors
in to be enjoyed year round.
3:30-4:15 Repairing Broken Tiles with Brechelle Ware of Tile Heritage
Foundation http://www.tileheritage.org/
Brechelle teaches some basic repair techniques to preserve your
installation or art piece. Using items commonly found in the home, learn to
fill cracks with a variety of materials and put broken pieces back together
with structural integrity.
