Appearing onstage with just a microphone, a stool, and a diet Pepsi, Paula Poundstonehttp://www.paulapoundstone.com/ is sure to dazzle crowds in Tacoma this July with her razor-sharp wit and spontaneity.  Broadway Center for the Performing Artshttp://www.broadwaycenter.org, The Rainbow Centerhttp://www.rainbowcntr.org/ and Tacoma Pride Festivalhttp://tacomapride.org/ are proud to present this stand-up comedy legend on July 12, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in Tacoma's historic Pantages Theater as part of the 2013 Tacoma Pride Festival.

A household name in stand-up comedy, Poundstonehttp://www.paulapoundstone.com will have the citizens of Grit City cracking up at her self-deprecating observations of daily life. Notorious for incorporating casual bantering with audience members into her act, some lucky Tacomans are sure to become a part of her side-splitting performance. The Boston Globe stated, "Poundstone improvises with a crowd like a Jazz musician...swinging in unexpected directions without a plan, without a net."

Poundstone is a 33-year comedy veteran famous for her offbeat, improvisational style, her signature suit jacket and tie, and from appearing on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The David Letterman Show, and most recently as a regular panelist on the beloved NPR quiz show, Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Mehttp://www.npr.org/programs/wait-wait-dont-tell-me/. Paula was the first woman to host the Whitehouse Correspondents' Dinner and to win the Cable ACE award for her HBO comedy special, "Cats, Cops, and Stuff."
