Meaningful Movies Tacoma presents “Just Eat It” a provocative film about food waste in America. With our love of food, culinary magazines and cooking shows, how can we toss 50% of our food in the garbage? What is the cost to our community and landfill implications?

See this free documentary on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Center for Spiritual Living, 206 North “J” St., Tacoma, WA. “Just Eat It” --a 75 min run time produced by Peg Leg Films’ Jenny Rustemeyer. A facilitated discussion with a speaker/panel follows the film.

Filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of food waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of good food that is tossed each year in North America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping  and survive only on discarded food. What they find is truly shocking.

We thank our sponsors for the March screening:

UWTacoma’s Center for the Study of Community and Society;
Greater Tacoma Community Foundation Spark Grants;
RAD Team Tacoma...sparking bipartisan conversations;
Seabury School...education with the brakes off!
Pierce County Conservation Gleaning Project
Central Co-op
