Hi! It's been a while! I got a "real job" for a few years but now I am back in my zone of genius helping to connect small businesses with our Tacoma/Pierce County Community through super fun projects like Tacoma ART BUShttps://www.facebook.com/TacomaARTBUS, Art on the Ave Festivalhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089536030854 and more. I don't know if you heard, but I bought Weekly Volcano Newspaperhttps://weekly-volcano.com/ (they shut it down in 2020) and my team and I relaunched it in October.

What are your goals for 2024?

We are accomplishing something very challenging - showcasing our local artists, musicians, small businesses and non-profit organizations to a hyper-local audience in Tacoma/Pierce County despite the social media algorithms getting in the way and the big corporations hogging all of the attention. We are also telling our local stories in a positive light and trying to rebuild a community that has felt pretty disconnected for the past few years.

What is my secret weapon?

The unlimited imagination of myself and my team, a huge local network and the trust I have built up over the past 20 years doing projects with this same goal in mind.

Why should you care?

If you are interested in meeting new local customers - this is what we specialize in and we do it affordably, we make it fun and you can trust in the ROI because our only shareholder is me, and I am not in it for the money.

If you are annoyed by the fact that our local media is actually not local at all and they only cover stories about the worst things that happen then you should pay very close attention to what I am about to tell you.

Here is how you can be involved in the projects we have underway now:

  1. I am putting together the first ART BUS tour in over 7 years right now and I intend to do this monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month. If you have an art exhibit or even a spare wall we could put one on, you can participate as a stop on the tour for $200 which is used to pay for the bus rental. This time we are filming the tour and making a mini-documentary about it every month. This means that there is a pre-tour campaign, an event that brings roughly 30 people into the business and a post-tour campaign featuring the TV show  - all for just $200. If I can find a bus that will donate the time, we can make it even MORE affordable to participate in ART BUS!

  2. You can send us scoops about things you would like the Weekly Volcano to write about by emailing Newsroom@weekly-volcano.comailto:Newsroom@weekly-volcano.com.

  3. We are working on creating a local news show that will air weekly and we will be seeking sponsors for it soon. (more on that later - stay tuned)

  4. You should check out our free online event calendar https://weekly-volcano.com/calendar and be sure to send all your local events to Calendar@Weekly-Volcano.com

  5. We are running a crowdsourcing campaign to help us upgrade our technology, take care of the talented people who are working very hard behind the scenes and help us keep up on the business bills. If you'd like to help out, check it out here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/help-support-the-return-of-the-weekly-volcano/#/

  6. We have ads for sale online and in print ranging from $100 per month to $1200 depending on how extensive of a campaign you are looking for. Email Advertising@Weekly-Volcano.com to inquire about how we can help you build your brand and find fun ways to showcase your work.

  7. You can get your copy of the newspaper at the locations listed on this page of our website: https://weekly-volcano.com/locationslist

  8. You can sign up to get the weekly email full of local news here: https://weekly-volcano.com/newsletter

  9. I am part of the team organizing Art on the Ave Festival again this year. Last year we brought it back to life and 20K people came! If you want to participate, let me know! Weekly Volcano will also be helping to promote several other local festivals as well this summer.

Thanks for reading all of that and please reply if you would like to be a part of this movement!

I'd love to know what goals you are working on so we can help!
