[cid:image002.jpg@01CEBE8F.84649C70]The New Directions Veterans Choir<http://www.newdirectionsinc.org/about_choir.html>, an award-winning a cappella group comprised primarily of formerly homeless veterans will perform at Tacoma's Theatre on the Square for one show on Friday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. New Directions<http://www.newdirectionsinc.org/about_choir.html> sings renditions of doo-wop, soul, traditional gospel and pop music. The choir is comprised primarily of men and women who have served proudly in the United States Military, current and former residents of New Directions' transitional facility<http://www.newdirectionsinc.org/>, as well as family members of veterans. Following their service to our country and through a variety of circumstances, each member of the choir became homeless. The New Directions facility gave them hope and direction. The New Directions Veterans Choir got their "big break" on NBC's America's Got Talent<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5z-h92h6Ks> and since then has performed at the Democratic National Convention, for members of the United States Congress, and on The Donny and Marie Show. In doing so, they spread a message of hope and redemption to other veterans who struggle today. Director, Songwriter, and New Directions Graduate George Hill stated, "Through singing, we hope to let veterans who may be suffering know that there is a hope for them."
