Hidden Treasures to Host an Art Show & Sale
Sat. Aug. 10 and Sun. Aug. 11, 2013
Vendors at Hidden Treasures, located at the corner of S. 12th & Proctor Street, will celebrate a Grand Re-Opening by hosting a week of special events which will culminate with an Art Show and Sale the weekend of Aug. 10th and 11th .
Hidden Treasures vendors have always displayed for sale many works of art in many forms and the idea to invite local artists to display their work arose during planning Re-Opening festivities. Why not utilize the large currently vacant space that is up for rent to new businesses by filling it with a two-day art show? Artists benefit from the exposure in this great location; vendors benefit from increased exposure to new customers; and the building owner benefits from exposure to potential renters.
So, we’re opening up the lines of communication to welcome artists of all kinds to this 2-day Art Show and Sale. The room has four large north-facing windows which provide excellent light until late in the day and it is well-lit from overhead lighting as well.
There will be no rental fee and space will be allotted by “first come, first served”. Artists will be responsible for their own set up, take down, and sales, with possible assistance from various volunteers. We welcome suggestions and ideas to make this a truly wonderful show. Artists interested in showing their work, should call Betty Neal @ (253) 223-6055, or drop by the store when it’s open daily, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., for details. Some, but minimal response will be from this email address, so be sure to CALL soon!
General FYI re: Hidden Treasures -- Hidden Treasures is the “Everything Store” featuring Vintage, Mid-Century Modern & Antiques - from furniture to jewelry and everything in-between. Despite recent vacancies in the front portion (S. 12th St.) of the Old Trolley Building in which it is located, the adjoining Hidden Treasures has continued to do business as usual - with one notable change – its’ main entrance is now on the Proctor St. side. Familiar vendors still offer the great variety of items Hidden Treasures is known and loved for; new vendors have joined the group with even more choices for customers to consider. Fresh paint, flowers and pressure-washed sidewalks, show the spruced-up Proctor-side entrance is ready for the festivities designed to show thanks to loyal customers and to remind others Hidden Treasures is alive and thriving.
