Tacoma Poet Laureate Celebration and Reading
Please join the Tacoma Arts Commission and current Tacoma Poet Laureate, Josie Emmons Turner, for a poetry reading event in conjunction with National Poetry Month. The event will include readings by a selection of local poets and the winner of the 2013-15 Tacoma Poet Laureate competition, Lucas Smiraldo, will officially be awarded the position. The readings will be followed by light refreshments.
When: Tuesday, April 23, 6 - 7:30 pm
Where: Tacoma Public Library main branch, 1102 Tacoma Ave. S., Olympic Room
Cost: Free, free street parking available

The celebration continues with an after party, hosted by Lucas Smiraldo, at Art House Café, 111 N. Tacoma Ave. Come to listen or perform at this family-friendly open mic and pick up some dessert or coffee while you are there. Event will start directly following the Tacoma Poet Laureate Celebration and Reading, around 8 pm.
