The Spring 2014 Vashon Island Art Studio Tour is held for two consecutive weekends, May 3-4 & 10-11. Studios will be open from 10am-5pm. Rain or Shine, add this event to your Spring calendar of “must do” activities. Presented by the artists of Vashon Island, the Art Studio Tour is a celebration of the visual arts and creative process. It is a genuine opportunity for visitors to meet artists and craftspeople in their studios (many of which are not typically open to the public) and purchase artwork directly from the individual who created it. The 2014 Tour features 23 studios and collective gallery destinations that feature the work of painters, potters, weavers, sculptures, printmakers, jewelers, photographers, wood carvers and glass artists eager to share their unique work and creative vision. Vashon Island is a fun ferry ride from either Fauntleroy (West Seattle), or Point Defiance (Tacoma), or Southworth (Kitsap). Boats leave often and schedules can be found at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries.
