A May Tacoma Bach Festival! Maike Albrecht and Hans-Jürgen Schnoor
from Lubeck Germany join us for an all-Johann Sebastian Bach two-concert
festival in Tacoma of Bach's sonatas, cantatas and concerti. The
exquisite musical collaboration between Hans and Maike propelled their
stunning program with historical pianos of Haydn, Schubert and Brahms
songs with late 18th and early 19th-century a few days ago in La Conner,
and will be a palpable aspect of these programs of Bach, in whose music
they specialize. Please join us Monday evening at St. Luke's in Tacoma!

The church cantata Ich habe genug ("I am content"), BWV 82 was composed
in Leipzig in 1727 for the feast Purification of Mary and is one of the
most often performed and recorded of Bach's sacred cantatas. In this
cantata, based on the Song of Simeon, Bach projects a feeling of serene
contentedness with life and an expression of the experience of body and
soul coming to rest and in complete harmony beyond anything that mere
words can convey.

Partita in A Minor (solo flute)
Prelude in C Minor (solo harpsichord)
Sonata from the Musical Offering (flute and obbligato harpsichord)
Preludium in E Minor from the Well-Tempered Clavier (solo harpsichord)
