Seeking artists for established and emerging public artist rosters

The Office of Arts & Culture will form two artist rosters—one of approximately 75 established artists and one of approximately 40 emerging artists—pre-qualified for future art projects at city utility facilities, in parks, in the street right-of-way and other locations. The rosters will be one of the means of selecting artists to develop permanent, free-standing or site-integrated artwork projects in a variety of sizes and complexities.

The 2014-2015 roster will replace any previous rosters. Previously selected roster artists are encouraged to apply.

Established Artist Roster

Eligibility: Open to experienced professional artists residing in the United States. Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of two permanent or temporary, site-specific public art commissions with budgets of a least $15,000 per project.

Budget: Established artist roster project budgets will range from approximately $45,000 to $175,000, depending upon project complexity.

Deadline: 11 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013 (Pacific Standard Time).

Application: Click herehttp://officeofartsculture.createsend1.com/t/y-l-ttkjpk-sdtkjurkh-j/ to apply.

Info: Kelly Pajekmailto:kelly.pajek@seattle.gov, public art project manager, (206) 684-7311.

Emerging Artist Roster

Eligibility: Open to emerging artists living in Oregon and Washington state. The Office of Arts & Culture defines an emerging artist as: an artist who is at an early stage in their career, who may or may not have specialized training in the art form, and who has created a modest body of artistic work.

Applicants must show experience with a previous art exhibit, project or event that was open to the public. Artists must be over 18 years old and should be interested in creating art in public places and in working collaboratively in public settings. Students are not eligible.

Budget: Emerging artist roster project budgets will range under $45,000.

Deadline: 11 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013 (Pacific Standard Time).

Application: Click herehttp://officeofartsculture.createsend1.com/t/y-l-ttkjpk-sdtkjurkh-t/ to apply.
