The desire for our art to be liked can lead to us feeling trapped in a style we aren't excited about anymore, unsure how to tap into inspiration, hyper critical of ourselves, or completely avoidant of art altogether. We can fall into the thinking that "art" looks a certain way and that if we do not align with that category, then we will be failures. Not exactly a thriving environment for curiosity and creativity.
