Science On Screen- pairing great films with lessons in science- coming to
The Grand Cinema
The Grand Cinema is proud to have received a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan
Foundation and the Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation to bring Science on
Screen to Tacoma and Pierce County for events in May, June, and July.
‘Science on Screen http://www.coolidge.org/programs/science-on-screen’
creatively pairs screenings of classic, cult, and documentary films with
lively introduction lessons by notable figures from the world of science,
technology, and medicine.
Each film is used as a jumping off point for the speaker to reveal current
scientific research or technological advances, providing the perfect
combination of entertainment and enlightenment – even for the most
science-phobic culture vulture.
Each program (consisting of a short lesson and the feature film) will begin
at 6:45pm.
