Hi all! Announcing a new non-audition community rock choir in Tacoma! Voices Rock is based out of Denver and started there ten years ago. In those ten years, we've grown to 9 choirs in Denver with over 500 singers. We opened a Portland, OR, location this summer, and this fall we're launching Tacoma and Seattle! The idea behind Voices Rock is that anyone *can* sing, everyone *should* sing, and no one should feel left out of the arts based on their musical background. We do two 10-week sessions per year, during which we work on six rock and pop songs in three-part harmony. We put on a show at the end with a band, and it's always a really fun time! The only requirement to join is a love of singing. The Tacoma group <https://voicesrock.com/our-choirs/tacoma/> will start on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Common Good Tacoma and meet on Wednesdays until mid-November. It's led by Jason Brinker, an awesome high school choir director out of Puyallup. Members pay dues to participate, but monthly payment plans and scholarships are available. We never turn someone away who wants to sing with us! One more fun thing about our model is that all choirs work on the same music at the same time, so the Seattle group on Tuesday nights is available for choir-hopping if people in either one want to stop by the other (also true for the Portland and Denver choirs, for that matter!).
