Hello Tacoma Arts Community,
You are invited to a Community Fiber Event that will occur this Tuesday
11/26 and also Friday 11/29. Both events are identical. Both events are
free and family-friendly.
In 2023 and 2024, local artist Nicole Turner began collecting fabric and
yarn donations as part of her Tacoma Artist Initiative Project grant. These
collected, thrifted and upcycled materials have then been turned into a
small collection of wearable art as well as 2-D works. The completed pieces
are available to see at two locations this week. Nicole will also be doing
weaving demonstrations and attendees can take home a free resource booklet
filled with Tacoma-based creative resources. If you are a person who is
interested in upcycling, or weaving, sewing, quilting, or any fiber/textile
related artwork, then you will enjoy stopping by.
