This is a temporary, part-time position. The employee performs a variety of duties related to box office accounting/ticket sales, special event administration and activity planning, and scheduling and supervision of cultural arts and special event recreational programs.
Position requires flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Must be available to work all scheduled evenings and weekend program events, plus some weekday hours. Schedule is set one month to six weeks in advance, based on need and/or program schedules.
Temporary employees are not eligible to receive any City benefits.
This is a non-benefited position.
Primary Duties:
- Processes ticket phone orders; prepares and coordinates on-site box office operations; reconciles ticket door sales for BRAVO, Auburn Ave Theater, Special Event admissions, ticket sales and vendor registrations. Maintains high standard of Customer Service and City's accounting policies and procedures for these operations.
- Coordinates with regular Arts/Theater/Special Event/Marketing staff in the planning and oversight of related programs, program development, administrative support, day of event duties as assigned, supervision of volunteers, facility and/or program.
- Production advance coordination, planning and preparation for performances, concerts and special events.
- Gallery install and de-install of rotating exhibits of 2-dimensional artwork assistance.
- Public Art maintenance schedule coordination; artwork needs assessment and/or crew supervision of artwork maintenance as assigned.
- Administrative assistance for arts, theater and special events or Parks, Arts & Recreation Department as assigned.
- Is tactful and courteous with the public, co-workers and City employees at all times, occasionally in difficult customer service situations.
- Trains, schedules and evaluates program volunteers.
- Follows written and verbal instructions, and provides clear verbal and written instructions to program staff, volunteers and general public.
- Enforces all departments' and City of Auburn rules and regulations.
- Attends employment training sessions required by the department.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, administrative, accounting and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrates sound and professional judgment.
- Regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
- Will perform miscellaneous basic office tasks.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as well as mid-week hours.

Must be able to pass a background check.

Must possess a valid, current state driver's license at the time of appointment.

Basic computer skills and office equipment.

Previous experience in at least three of the following required: retail cashiering, accounting, customer service, stage, production or event management, project planning and administrative assistance and staff or shift management supervision.

A college degree preferred.

Staging, theatrical production and/or equipment knowledge very helpful.
