The theme this year for Art on the Ave is “Back to Art!” and we will be presenting 8 live art demonstrations and 6 to 7 hands-on booths where festival attendees can get a free art lesson and make something themselves. As you know, it takes a lot of community support to put together events that are this large and complicated so we were wondering if you’d like to help us gather some of the supplies we need. The more supplies we have, the more people we can serve. This email is a general call for donations or in-kind contributions to help these Hands-On booths be as spectacular as possible and well equipped with materials needed to help inspire the creative spirit within us all.
Here is our wish list:
Sidewalk Chalk (of all shapes sizes and colors)Kid Friendly paint that can be used on either vinyl or paperPaint Brushes (gently used is A-Okay)Smocks (for the little ones in particular)Reams of Paper (white or colored)Kid Friendly ScissorsSmall Staplers/StaplesGlue SticksPlastic Cups (for rinsing paint brushes)Pencils/Colored PencilsPop up canopies/vendor tents to borrow for day of event. With these I'd recommend using duct tape or permanent maker to label your canopy as yours so there is no confusion and all borrowed canopies find their rightful owners. If you are able to provide any of these items for festival use please contact Visual Arts Coordinator: Jackie Casella, jackie.d.fender@gmail.com) directly and/or drop items by to Northwest Costume at 2315 6th Avenue during business hours prior to July 13th. Don't have the goods but want to be involved with the festival?!
