Are you writing poetry of, about, or inspired by Tacoma? Voices of Tacoma:
A Gathering of Poets https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/gathering-of-poets,
will be open for submissions
https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/opensubmissions from January 1 through
31, 2024 for poetry to be included in the anthology. Submissions are free.

Are you interested in joining the Voices of Tacoma editorial panel, to read
submissions and help select the poems for inclusion in the anthology?
Please contact https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/contact us if you are
interested in learning how to become a panelist.

One thing to note, Panelists will be eligible to submit their own poetry.
In order to create a fair and unbiased evaluation of each submission, we’ll
have a double-blind review of the work and will ensure that the panelists
are not reviewing work they submitted.

Inspired by Jenny Bartoy https://jennybartoy.com/’s workshop on “The Art
of Self Editing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hHKULU3Ftkh3xj3KqGdWesWdCdGxFjtw/view”,
we have created a wiki blog called “A Lexicon of Tacoma
https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/post/a-tacoma-lexicon”.  Here we have
gathered some words that can be used as you begin to write your poems about
Tacoma. This wiki-blog is open to your suggestions for additional words -
please contact https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/contact us if you have
any to add. This is very much a work in progress, so don’t be surprised if
there are words you find missing as we begin to build the lexicon.

Partly funded by the Tacoma Artists Initiative Program, Voices of Tacoma
offers several free community programs to support the literary arts
community, including Monthly Poetry Gatherings
https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/monthly-poetry-gatherings, the Autumn
Poetry Workshop https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/poetry-workshops
series, and the Poets’ Corner table at various local community events.
