Greetings!

We are at it again! We're putting out a new call for soil sample location volunteers within our study area (read below for more info). We have four appointment times available during the upcoming week:

Monday 4/18 at 9am
Monday 4/18 at 10am
Monday 4/18 at 11am
Monday 4/18 at 1:30pm

If you would like to arrange soil testing at your location during one of the above times, let me know nannette.huber@wsu.edumailto:nannette.huber@wsu.edu. If you are unable to volunteer your location, please consider helping our study by forwarding this email to friends, family, or even other email lists/groups!

If you don't remember our previous begging for testing locations, you can read more detailed information below my signature.

Have a great weekend! And thanks for volunteering! =D

Recently, an interdisciplinary team of WSU Puyallup faculty members were awarded funding for a pilot study looking at phosphorus trends in the Puyallup River watershed. To help complete this study, we need volunteers who will let us take soil samples at their house or farm property. The only requirements are that the location must be within our study area (portions of the following zip codes: 98371, 98372, 98373, 98374, 98375, 98390, 98404, 98421, 98443, 98445, 98446) and you, or an adult representative of your choice, must be present to provide access and answer a few questions during the soil sampling. The process of sampling should take an hour or so but may take longer if your location is particularly large or complex.

If you choose to participate in the study, any and all information obtained will be aggregated as part of our study data and no identifying information about you or your home/farm will be made public. In exchange for your participation, we will make your soil test results available to you once the results are back from the laboratory. This means free (to you) soil phosphorus testing!

We need lots of volunteers! If you would like to volunteer, please let me know by emailing me ( nannette.huber@wsu.edumailto:nannette.huber@wsu.edu ) your address and we can coordinate details once I can verify that you are in our study area. If you would like to determine for yourself if you are in the study area, feel free to use our web mapping application http://www.arcgis.com/apps/Viewer/index.html?appid=ba39936d8bf248b7b3317e440a969067https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.arcgis.com_apps_Viewer_index.html-3Fappid-3Dba39936d8bf248b7b3317e440a969067&d=CwMFAg&c=C3yme8gMkxg_ihJNXS06ZyWk4EJm8LdrrvxQb-Je7sw&r=Jav5pVpsNEPTU0WAbFJ6XQ&m=6fb0FQ9pVoP3Mpdh79e4TW1PWaow4-XrH7ue0WMn2-w&s=UMiefrQg6KtxH8OB_HhMohimPqbNfg3DjVeo06FcqNI&e=

If you have questions email me ( nannette.huber@wsu.edumailto:nannette.huber@wsu.edu ) and I will do my best to answer your questions and/or keep you informed of additional sampling dates as they become available. Soil sampling will be taking place, weather permitting, over the next few months so surely we can try to accommodate your schedule as much as possible.
