Burien Arts 2013 Vision 20/20 ‘Call to Artists’

Vision 20/20 is a unique art show and sale to benefit the work of the Burien Arts Association to bring quality, affordable visual and performing arts experiences to the Burien and surrounding communities.  A group of 20 artists each prepare 20 pieces of original art work (8x8 inch format) using their medium of choice (sorry, no photography).  These pieces are either done directly on, or mounted on, 8x8 in. panels supplied by Burien Arts.

The evening of the event, the 400 works of art are viewed by the 300+ patrons that attend each year.  After 2 hours, all pieces will be sold for $40 each during a “Frenzy Buying” session.  The $40 is split 50-50 between the artist and Burien Arts.  In addition, each artist can submit a large work that will be for sale in a silent auction.  A minimum price will be set by each artist.  If sold, a 40% commission will go to Burien Arts.

Artists interested in participating are asked to email an artist’s bio with name, address and email, plus 3 JPEG photos of examples of their work c/o John Unbehend at burienarts@gmail.com .  Deadline for application to participate in Vision 20/20 2013 is July 7th.  These will be reviewed by the jury.  The group of artists chosen for the 2013 Vision 20/20 will be notified by July 10th.  A detailed ‘Call to Artists’ with instructions and timelines for this year’s 20/20 can be found on our web site: www.burienarts.org/20-20
