Hello Everyone,

To follow on to our meeting yesterday, here is a little summary of decisions and information related to the State initiated IGN refresh.

  • WaTech initiated the refresh of the CNTY2701 device currently located at TPCHD

o  The current connection is a 10Mbps service to the IGN

o  The new connection will be a 100Mbps service to the IGN

o  The Cisco ME3402 at TPCHD is being replaced with a Cisco 4331

o  The new connection will be placed at Pierce County's Delta Data Center

?  To facilitate this:

  • the new device will be inserted in the ring between pc3650d and lesa3560-1

  • a connection will need to be established between HLD3550 and COT3550

o  The cost of the service will remain the same

o  The routing protocol and method between INCTPC and the state will remain the same

  • Changes also related to this activity include

o  The state is removing ISP service from the IGN, so they need confirmation that no one is using it for this purpose

o  They also wanted to know if anyone's email was reached through the IGN.  If this is the case for anyone, could you please let me know?

  • Future desired changes

o  There is still a strong desire for a resilient connection to the IGN, but this is out of scope of the WaTech refresh.

o  Keith is going to talk within SS911 about connections to the UW that could provide this additional resiliency.

If there are any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Kind regards,
