Hi Connie - Thought people on your poetry mailing list might be interested in this film. Mick Flaaen, whose documentary on Tacoma graffiti, "Paint," was so successful, has a new one out, this time about ballet in Tacoma, "A Funeral Dance." It's an official selection to Seatle's Independent Film Festival. The festival is showcasing the film in Tacoma with a short ("Look up in the sky") also from Tacoma. This is the first time the festival has ever showcased something outside of Seattle; so they are making a big deal about it and want it to be a success.
It will be screened in the Washington State History Museum's new 250-seat theater on Wednesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. Ticket: $8.
