There are two great tapestry shows opening in Tacoma this month. The first the American Tapestry Alliance's "Small Tapestry International 3: Outside the Line" is now open at the Handforth Gallery at the Tacoma Public Library. The exhibit features juried work by 38 international artists and is up unti l Aug.3. There will be a reception and lecture by Shelley Socolofsky from 2-4 on Sat., June 29. The second show is "TAPS Contained", a show by Tapestry Artists of Puget Sound at the Brick House Gallery, 1123 Fawcett St., Tacoma. This show features the work of 14 regional artists and one collaborative piece and is open Third Thur., June 29 (4-6) and by appointment.
