Throwing Mud Gallery is taking registration for our next 6-week session of pottery classes beginning the week of June 24!

We have classes from 6pm to 8:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays, and morning classes from 10am to 12:30pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays.  Come once a week for instruction, plus enjoy an additional 2-1/2 hours per week of open studio to practice your new skills and work on your items.

The $168 registration fee also includes 25# of clay, glazes & firing (up to 20 pcs), and use of all studio equipment.  A basic toolkit is required and available for purchase for approximately $24.

We invite new students to register at our studio.

Our classes are a mix of beginners to more experienced students, which encourages a cooperative learning environment. If you have no experience, you can learn at your own pace. If you have more experience, we can build on what you already know and give you options for your learning choices.
We realize that sometimes you may have to miss a class.  You are able to make up your missed time by joining another class as long as space is available, only within the current session.

If you’re not ready for a 6-week commitment, we also have a 2-hour “Try It” class, and is exactly what it’s called.  You get basic instruction on the pottery wheel and you TRY IT!  We’ll trim and glaze your bowl for you to pick up about 2 weeks later.

Throwing Mud Gallery is a working pottery studio and contemporary crafts gallery located in the historical Old Town District of Tacoma.  The gallery's mission is to encourage creativity and an understanding of quality handcrafted art through its retail gallery and pottery classes.
