Are you a 'spur of the moment' kind of artist...ready to sketch at the
drop of a hat?

We have special permission to sketch on the grounds and in the
greenhouses of the Van Lierop Garden Market (VLGM) in downtown Sumner
today (Saturday) from 10-12.(Shop opens at 10)

If you need a map, just Google their address: 1020 Ryan Ave.--Sumner WA

VLGM is a great place for sketchers. They have a beautiful outdoor
garden area (lots of bldgs/sculptures/garden features, covered areas).
The (nice and warm) green houses are a possible sketch site too---always
beautifully decorated, plus the green house building offers some
interesting architectural challenges. I've sketched and painted here,
been involved in organizing several art shows in their gallery area, and
hosted a plein air paiting workshop here...so, you know my opinion of
the site: the Van Lierops are very generous in providing support for
artists' success.

However, sketching VLGM is only one option during this outing of Urban
Sketchers Tacoma...other great sites are a mere one short block away--on
the Main Street of downtown Sumner:interesting street scenes and
antiques shops with indoor sketching possibilities (just ask at the
counter if it's o.k.--I've never been told 'no.')

There's ample free parking directly across the street from VLGM.

Go find your sketch book and pencil/pen/watercolors/whatever, hop in
your car,  and come join us!
