HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF KAI’S ROOM Join Energize Tacoma for two free community workshops that will help expand the story, creatures, and world of Kai’s Room. Through art, storytelling, imagination, and worldbuilding, participants will help create new content that may inspire future exhibits, books, zines, and immersive experiences. STORYTELLING ZINE WORKSHOP June 13, 2026 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Help create stories, characters, ideas, sketches, and concepts that may become part of future Kai’s Room publications and zines. Participants will learn about worldbuilding and help shape the growing universe surrounding Kai, Tacoma Aerospace Corporation, and the mysteries hidden within his father’s files. CREATURE CREATION WORKSHOP June 14, 2026 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Kai has discovered references to a distant planet called Valeria within his father’s files. The documents suggest that life may exist there, but nobody knows what those lifeforms look like. Help imagine and design: • Alien species • Strange wildlife • Intelligent beings • Plants and ecosystems • Mysterious creatures from another world No artistic experience is necessary. Families, students, artists, storytellers, science-fiction fans, and curious minds are all welcome. Students from NCAD will be at both events to learn, hear, and share.
