Greetings,

Citizens for a Healthy Bay is looking for 4 interns to participate in our
Summer Environmental Ambassadors (SEA) Program! Below is a description of
the opportunity.

*Organization Description: *Citizens for a Healthy Bay (CHB) is a
community-based organization that engages citizens in the cleanup,
restoration and protection of Commencement Bay, surrounding waters and
habitat. CHB works cooperatively with other nonprofits, local, state and
federal government agencies, Indian tribes and private foundations in
accomplishing its goals and objectives.

*Position Description: *At CHB, we believe that environmental education is
vital for ongoing community sustainability. We are looking for four young
adult interns wishing to expand their understanding of the local
environment and its aquatic resources while gaining experience completing
the internal tasks necessary for a functioning environmental nonprofit
organization. Activities will include various organizational roles,
assisting with CHB’s education programs, and a range of eco-focused
enrichment field trips. This program aims to provide education and a taste
of nonprofit work for individuals with aspirations in the professional
environmental field.

*Qualifications: *We are looking for individuals interested in conservation
and environmental education. Applicants should be organized, reliable,
professional, and able to work independently. Existing environmental
knowledge or experience is a plus, but not required. Strong communication
skills are necessary, and interns should be comfortable speaking with the
public. *All applicants must be between junior year of high school and
sophomore year of college. *

*Time Commitment: *Interns should be available at least 15 hours per week.
The program will run from June to the beginning of August.

*Responsibilities: *

Assist with the implementation of environmental stewardship programs

Represent CHB at various community events, volunteer fairs, etc.

Assist with managing volunteer and member information through CHB’s
database

Assist with fundraising activities, including event planning and
membership outreach

Participate in environmental education activities in order to strengthen
one’s own understanding of our local environment and its waters

Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned
