Tacoma's Festivus celebrates our Northwest character and community culture
from Salmon Beach to the Dome District and beyond with an lighted
sculptural procession that takes place with music in the streets every
Autumn.

The date of the 2013 Festivus is September 28, and you can learn more about
what we do, who we are and what we're about at this link here:  Lumins
Festivus http://www.tacomasoutsidersguide.com/what-when--why.html  (if
the link doesn't work go here:

A video of last year's Festivus and examples of lighted sculpture
('luminaria' is one word to describe them) can be found under the Gallery
tab http://www.tacomasoutsidersguide.com/what-when--why.html at the top
of the page.

Last year's September Festivus was done in coordinated cooperation with
Broadway Center's Fall Free 4 All, and surprised Vicci Martinez for her
acoustic birthday show.  This is event causes a lot of joy.

We are currently introducing families and artists to the event and how to
make these sculptures every Wednesday evening at Good Karma's Art Space, at
711 St. Helens, 6p - 8p.  We will also be at the Thursday Farmer's Markets
up until the day of the event.

On Tuesday, Sept 24 we will be at the 6th Ave Farmer's Market Harvest Fest.
& Thursday, Sept 26 we will be at First Night's 'Diner en Blanc' at Wright
Park

The event itself is 2 days later, Sept 28:  At 7:30p we meet at the Wright
Park Conservatory, and proceed through downtown's Theater District.  There
will be music and hoola and an after party at Tacoma Cabana, with a very
special surprise . .

All are welcome, oldest to youngest, youngest to oldest:

Famlies:  Join for the Joy of our Children
Artists:  Bring id and light it uP

This is a family event and sculptures are expected to be big, bright,
interesting and fuN
