In-person assistors from King County Public Health will be on hand to help you sign up/enroll for these new options based on your eligibility (appointments are on a first-come-first-serve basis). Also, Personal Health Advocates from the Washington Health Foundation will be available to answer any lingering questions about your current coverage (or lack thereof) and how it might differ from new options.
Health insurance is confusing enough. Add in health insurance exchanges, thousands of acronyms, and messages flying left-and-right about signing up for this-that-and-the-other thing, it's no wonder most people just choose to ignore the whole cacophony.
Because of upcoming changes in the Affordable Care Act, it will no longer be possible to live in blissful ignorance. Starting on October 1st, there will be a large push to get everyone covered under a variety of new options. This forum will cut through the noise and deliver straightforward answers on what you can expect, how to take action for your health and what the different options mean to individuals.
