The Main Street Design Committee (MSDC) plays a key role in shaping the
physical image of downtown Puyallup. The MSDC coordinates with building
owner to select artists to install public murals on Buildings in downtown
Puyallup. This RFQ is a request for experienced public mural Artists
submittals to create and install a public mural on the Larson Glass
building in Puyallup.
Budget: $15,000 funding is provided by the Puyallup Main Street Association
Mural Description:
The mural will be painted on a painted brick wall approx. 50 FT. by 20 ft.
(see picture below). The mural will represent the history of the Puyallup
Drag Raceway. The mural shall include but not be limited to the following
features:
3-D representation of a race car driving out of the building wall.
Tire burnout cloud
Include a sign or banner with “Puyallup Raceway Park”
Mural Timeline: Mural will be installed by September 2024. Submitting
artists must be able to complete the mural deadline.
Submittal Deadline: September 30, 2023 5:00 PM
Submission Materials: Interested Artists are asked to submit the following
RFQ documents and any questions to Heather Shadko with Subject Line – Drag

- Statement of interest including Artists contact information (one page)
- Description of Artists responsibilities in completion of public murals
from design to painting.
- Images (jpg or pdf format) of 3 completed murals by the submitting
artist demonstrating the artists capabilities and style.
- Contact information for three references
Selection process:
The submitted RFQs will be reviewed and scored by the Puyallup Mainstreet
Mural Design Committee and the building owner. The committee may choose to
schedule an interview process.
If selected the Artist will work with the Main Street Design Committee to
develop the mural design based on the mural site location and design theme.
