Walk Tacoma 2016 Kicks Off on April 6, National Walking Day

Celebrate National Walking Day tomorrow by joining Downtown On the Go and the American Heart Association on the Walk Tacoma Kick-offhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1581703852119786/ in Wright Park.  The 1.7 mile Tacoma's Historic Schools Walk, led by Dr. Garcia, Tacoma Public Schools and Jonah Jensen, BLRB Architects, will highlight Stadium High School and the Central School.  This event will kick-off the 2016 Walk Tacoma Serieshttp://www.downtownonthego.com/go/walking/walk-tacoma-2016 sponsored by the Puyallup Watershed Initiative Active Transportationhttp://www.pwi.org/collaboratives/active-transportation/.

The walk, sponsored by Commencement Bankhttps://www.commencementbank.com/, will begin on the south end of Wright Park by the lion sculptures at noon, with sign-in starting at 11:30 a.m.  The first 250 people to sign-in will receive a swag bag.  The walk event is free, and there is no pre-registration necessary.
