Mauro Giuliani, a phenomenal guitar virtuoso, composed the "cream" of
the flute and guitar duo repertoire, seldom to be heard on the sweeter,
more intimate and expressively nuanced instruments with which he and his
friends Beethoven, Rossini and Hummel were familiar. The /Giulianiad/
was a journal for guitarists published in London a few years after
Giuliani's death.
