Your Blanket Could Be Part of the Art

Contribute a blanket that will become part of a community artwork by Northwest artist Marie Watt. Tacoma Art Museum and the artist are accepting up to 400 blankets to help form a monumental bronze sculpture that will transform the exterior of the new Haub Family Galleries. Those who share their blanket and its "story" (if it has one) by May 18 will receive a screen print created by Marie Watt.

The artwork, titled Blanket Stories: Transportation Object, Generous Ones, and Trek, will be shaped out of the blankets and then bronzed before being installed on Pacific Avenue.

To donate a blanket, simply bring the blanket by the museum's admission desk.
