CALL FOR ARTISTS
Peninsula Art League’s 11th Annual Open Juried Art Exhibition
Entry deadline – June 19 or 26
Show dates – Aug. 30-Oct. 6
Gig Harbor, WA — Peninsula Art League invites 2D and 3D artists to apply for this year’s Open Juried Art exhibition. The show will take place Aug. 30-Oct. 6 at the Harbor History Museum on Gig Harbor’s historic downtown waterfront. Apply online at http://www.onlinejuriedshows.com/Default.aspx?OJSID=121 or download a Call for Entries from the PAL website at peninsulaartleague.com.
More than $3,300 in prizes will be awarded.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the museum on this year’s show,” said exhibition co-chair Sheila Anderson. “It’s a beautiful venue with a large, well-lit gallery and a lobby area that will accommodate additional artworks. And the waterfront setting at the end of Gig Harbor Bay is so inspiring.”
The venue also allows for many more entries than in years past, added co-chair Karen Wilsey. “We’ll be able to accept at least 200 entries, compared to less than 100 the past several years at our old venue.”
Last year’s exhibition showcased the work of artists from throughout the U. S. and Canada, as well as many from the Puget Sound area.
California artist Joe Garcia has been selected as juror for the show. “Joe is a highly respected watercolor and oil painter. He’s also a published author and a skilled teacher,” Anderson said. “We’re very privileged to have him join us.” Garcia will also give a three-day watercolor workshop Aug. 26, 27 & 28, prior to the opening of the show.
Deadline for entries is June 19 for mail-in entries; June 26 for on-line entries.
