The month's first Thursday is nearing so please join us for our monthly
environmental social mixer. This month's speaker is from DesignFarmNW. Stop
by for a brief introduction to their work and then hang out with other
members of the environmental community.

Where: Primo Grill - 2701 6th Ave, Tacoma, WA 98406

When: Thursday, March 3 @ 6.00 PM
Details:
Wikipedia describes the circular economy as, ... an industrial economy that
is, by design or intention, restorative and in which material flows are of
two types, biological nutrients, designed to reenter the biosphere safely,
and technical nutrients, which are designed to circulate at high quality
without entering the biosphere.

Focusing on Tacoma, how would a vibrant circular economy benefit the city?
What examples of circular material flows already exist and what new
opportunities can be found to keep materials in circulation and to inspire
action for entrepreneurs and existing organizations?

At DesignFarmNW, they research current waste streams and local
manufacturing networks to find new opportunities for developing functional
everyday products that are mutually beneficial and generate value from
reclaimed and upcycled materials. Their pilot project is the development of
urban gardening and outdoor furniture products, using local material and
manufacturing resources. Come join the conversation with DesignFarmNW as we
explore these interactions!

About Green Drinks:

Green Drinks Tacoma is a loosely organized and highly active group of
locals spanning nonprofits, academia, government and business who share a
love for all things green. We meet on the first Thursday of the month and
feature different community members engaged in compelling environmental
issues. While we're not highly structured, each meeting has a theme, a
guest host, and time for Q&A and socializing. Come along and you'll be made
welcome. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for
making new contacts.
