Rainier League of Arts will have their next meeting Oct. 15th 7PM at the Mid-County Community Center, 10205 44th Ave. E. Tacoma, WA. This month the guest demonstrator will be: Paul Langston
Member Paul Langston is a talented Northwest artist who uses a variety of mediums including oils, watercolors, wood burning, and carving. Paul will be demonstrating his wood burning techniques. His primary interest has been a combination of wood carving and wood burning on various types of woods. He depicts the scenes on grains of wood and has been able to use unusual woods like Myrtle wood and Basswood to create unique images not typically found on canvas. His wood burning art pieces are often one of a kind. He has dedicated most of his life to studying wildlife, rustic barns, landscapes and mountains. Over the years Paul has been involved in art clubs, art shows and fairs, and taught art classes. Paul resides in Auburn, Wash.
