The selected artist will work with the design team to integrate a site-specific or site-responsive artwork into the project area. This commission will focus on Union Street, a major connection between downtown and the waterfront. The call is one of a series of calls for permanent and temporary artworks along the redeveloped Seattle waterfront. The artist will join the Waterfront Seattle<http://officeofartsculture.createsend1.com/t/y-l-tilrjrt-sdtkjurkh-t/> design team in December 2013 or January 2014 and will develop a conceptual direction for the artwork in winter 2014. Upon acceptance of the concept design, the artist will be contracted for design development, engineering, fabrication and installation of the artwork. Eligibility: Open to professional artists working in the United States and Canada. Budget: The total project budget is estimated to be $200,000, all-inclusive of travel expenses, taxes, fabrication, delivery, installation, and other project costs.
