Renee Healy is a Tacoma native who has shared her love of watercolor and painting with the community since 1998. She has taught watercolor internationally, is a published author and illustrator, and is an advocate for homeless artists. As art became an important outlet, Renee started to immerse herself in teaching, developing programs to foster growth, healing and trying new techniques to expand that knowledge.

Renee owns a gallery/studio called Thirty8th Creates, at 764 S. 38th St., in the Tacoma Lincoln District. Thirty8th Creates is coupled with a maker-space called Fablab education, a Non-Profit, and a gift shop called Petal, highly curated items by Jillian. At this unique space we utilize science, technology, electronics and mathematics, as well as drawing, painting and creating art. Private lessons, Tacoma Creates workshops, and group/corporate events are available. Each Wednesday from 12:30-2:30 pm is Senior Moments, an art class for anyone but mostly with a focus on cognitively-impaired individuals (and their caregivers), utilizing art as a therapeutic tool for expression in all phases of life. The current artists at this show vary in medium from watercolor, multimedia to silk scarves, and includes Julia Josephine, Misi Lenci, Val Persoon, Fredaline Healy, George Hinkle, Chelsea Belle and Renee Healy. For more information, please contact Renee Healy, at 253-222-1509.

Renee, and represented artists, are exhibiting at the Tahoma Center Gallery through June 2023. Some of the work featured is the "Freddie & George" Show. Their combined Reception will be on the Artists' Walk Third Thursday, June 15, 5-7pm. There will be a video documentary of Freddie's and George's work taking place that night. The Reception will be located at Tahoma Center Gallery, 1323 Yakima Ave., Tacoma, 98405. Please call 253-502-2617 for more information.
