FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 16th, 2025
___________
The City of Auburn and the Auburn Arts Commission are pleased to present the art installation Mobalisk: A Compact Study of Steel in Place by Kyle Ocean at Auburn's Art on Main windowfront gallery, on view January 15th - April 10th, 2026.
Artwork Statement:
"This piece is the third iteration of a series of sculptures titled "Mobalisk," with this particular study heavily influenced by the location in which it is contained. Composed of geometric forms in various states of equilibrium, it invites viewers to contemplate the tension and unity that define our existence. The abstract shapes, suspended in a dynamic arrangement, symbolize the ever-shifting forces of life-gravity, momentum, and intention. Yet, despite their apparent instability, they coalesce into a cohesive whole, reflecting the beauty of balance in an unpredictable world. This piece challenges us to find stability amidst disorder and to appreciate the elegance of impermanence." - Kyle Ocean
