Peninsula Art League's 11th Annual Open Juried Art Exhibition will open Aug. 30 at Gig Harbor's history museum. Nationally known painter Joe Garcia, who juried the show, will present his awards at the reception to be held Aug. 30 from 6-8pm. More than $3,000 in prizes will be presented. Entries were received from as far away as North Carolina, New York, Colorado and B.C. Canada. Mr Garcia accepted approximately 100 artworks for the exhibition, from more than 200 entries. The show continues through Oct. 6. The museum is located at 4121 Harborview Drive, on Gig Harbor's historic waterfront. Without art, earth is just 'eh'.
