In partnership with Madison Elementary School, the Madison Wishing Tree Project is a collaborative program using art and education to reimagine public spaces and create engaging green spaces for all. This event will unveil the interactive public art installation Wishing Tree created by local artist Teruko Nimura through lessons taught in the preschool classroom. This project is part of an initiative within the Tacoma Mall neighborhood to incorporate green stormwater infrastructure, increase tree canopy cover, and promote access to green spaces.

The event will give you the opportunity to provide written wishes for beautifying & invigorating the school's new public playground, as well as taking part in a giveaway for artist-made ceramic planter pots and Tacoma Tree Foundation's "Trick or Tree" free shrubs & trees for Tacoma area residents.

Come enjoy the new interactive art installation, connect with community through your wishes for beautifying & invigorating Tacoma, and leave with some trees, treats, art, and inspiration!
